The Early Days in My Foster Home - part I

What is a foster home? My new mommy keeps telling me and other people this is my "foster" home. She calls me "Marshall" and says I am a "foster kitten". I hear other cats here, too. I also hear "bark! bark!" and "sniff! sniff!" noises outside my very own room. I'm too hungry and sleepy to care very much. Mostly, I sleep, eat, and purr. Sometimes I hiss when big people walk into my room. Then I remember these are the nice people who help me, and I will talk to them, and purr.

My new room is very cozy. My new mommy keeps a noise box on all the time in my room. She said it is a radio. I always hear, "This is WOSU 89.7". They talk a lot, but have nice voices. The music is nice, too. It helps me sleep. Every day, people turn water on and stand under it. It makes the room very warm, and I hop up on my post to watch them. They don't seem scared by water. After they are done, they talk to me, and I drink water off of their fingers.

I have 3 new mommies. One is "Mom", then there is "Kyra" and "Ella". I heard there is a daddy, but I haven't met him yet. Mommy said he is in Japan. "Mom" and "Ella" took me to a place with lots of cats, called "Cozy Cat Cottage". A nice lady there gave me a yummy drink, and then pinched me in the back. She said I was "bony". Everyone says this. What is "bony"? My mommy said I just got my "first shot and wormer". I didn't like it very much, and I am happy they took me back to my room with the noise box.

The First Day of My New Life (early November 2015)

This is me, taken by the nice people who first found me:

*Don't blame them...the first people that found me and left me in the parking lot. They thought they were doing the right thing. After all, they found me in the engine of their car. The couldn't bear taking me to a kill shelter and thought I'd have a chance at being found in a parking lot.

The good news, is that mommy Kay found me! >^..^<

This is me after my human mommy and the nice ladies found me:

It's All About Me!

Hi! I'm Marshall. At least that is the name given to me by the nice people who rescued me and brought me to their home. The mommy of this family wanted to name me Ford, because she told me this is the name of the SUV I was hiding in. She said I was tucked under the engine, but I only know it was a good place to hide. I didn't know it was dangerous, because it felt like the safest place to me.

I wish I could tell you where I came from, who my mommy and siblings were, and how I got into the engine of the first car I was found in. This part of my story will remain a mystery, because I don't know how to tell people this part. What my human mommy tells me is that I was found by nice people in the engine of their car, but they couldn't keep me, and didn't know what to do. They didn't want to take me to a shelter where they said I probably would've been "put to sleep". I don't know what that is. They took me to a parking lot and let me go, thinking maybe someone would find me and I would have a chance.

My human mommy told me this is when she searched for me. She put on a winter coat, because it was warm. She used a flashlight and searched in the woods nearby for me. Mommy saw people getting into their car, and she said,"Don't start your car! There is a lost kitten out here, and he might be in your engine!" The nice lady and her daughter wanted to help. They didn't know I could hear them. I was scared and cold, so I ran from one of my hiding places, across a parking lot. This is when my mommy first saw me. A little boy said, "There he is!" Mommy and the other nice people ran after me. I jumped up into another safe spot, but they didn't know where I went.

Later, another person got ready to get in their car. The nice people said, "We think there is a kitten hiding in the engine of your car!" They asked him to open his hood, and they found me. I was scared. A big man grabbed me and gave me to my human mommy. Everyone shouted, "Yay!" They all wanted to pet me and hug me. I was too tired and hungry to mind.

My human mommy took me to a warm house, where I met my human sisters. Mommy and Ella gave me a bath. She said I was covered in grease and dirt. After my bath, she wrapped me in a warm, soft towel. I had a blanket, some toys, and FOOD! She told me I was very bony. Actually, she said my bones felt "sharp" under my fur. I was very tired, and only wanted to eat and sleep. My mommy brought a radio and a litter box to my very own room in their house. I began to purr, and fell asleep.
